After successfully completing the first phase of work to the North and South Choir Aisle roof repairs in 2017, Heritage Conservation Restoration are delighted to have been awarded Phase 2 restoration works at Southwell Minster. The project will include a new Sand Cast Lead Roof with Hollow Rolled Bays, as well as new Lead Gutters to the Choir and Chancel roofs.
The work is due to commence September 2019 with an expected duration of approximately 43 weeks and is supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. The working area will require a complete scaffold, including a temporary roof to ensure the building remains watertight throughout the duration of the works. The scaffold is expected to take 10 weeks before any restoration works can commence, giving an insight into the scale of the project.
Southwell Minster is Grade I* listed, and Heritage are extremely proud to be working on one of the countries most prestigious buildings for the next Phase of works.
